“Standing Still and Being Astonished” by Marilyn Wells. Watercolor Print
This free flowing watercolor was based on
My work…which is mostly standing still
and learning to be astonished.”
M. Oliver - Messenger 1903
After many years of teaching No Fear Watercolor, I was reinsured by the work of Georgia O’Keefe’s early watercolor paintings.
Her loose and free-flowing watercolors felt at home side by side with my abstract sumi e or ink on paper paintings.
I find my inspiration from poetry also carries over into the new watercolors I am creating.
