Inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Wind, Sand and Stars:

“…a premonition of an incursion into a forbidden world whence it was going to be infinitely difficult to return…”

Forbidden World is an abstract sumi-e painting created with ink, brush, water, and spaciousness. Dark gestural forms move across the paper like thresholds, wings, fragments, or signs emerging from silence.

The work carries a sense of passage into mystery — a place both austere and luminous, where the visible world begins to open into something less easily named. In the spirit of my Meditations in Ink series, the painting invites quiet attention, allowing each viewer to discover their own sense of movement, space, and meaning within the ink.
