Print abstract sumi e “When You Left” by Marilyn Wells
This painting was inspired by the great Quiet and Presence in Spaciousness after someone has left…
When you left there was nothing
but the resounding silence and quiet
Within that silence and quiet may be found a resounding Love as well. I was blessed to be able to attend Tonglen practice last evening with Shambala and Judith Simmer-Brown in Boulder amidst a community of around 100 others who were suffering the hurt and loss of the victims of the Boulder shootings. Tonglen is the practice where you breathe in the hurt and suffering of those you are praying for, deeply into your pores and heart, and then breathe out light, love, compassion, caring. We practiced for each group of those suffering loss as Judith named them. For that I give thanks, and for being able to be part of a caring community left behind. No one can measure the grief; we can but acknowledge it and hold everyone in our hearts and in the light of the infinite we will all enter before long as well. Many Blessings to all who have experienced deep sadness and loss.
